Breaks and surrendering – improvisations

The musician and composer Torben Westergaard, the meditation teacher Hanneli Ågotsdatter and the author Peter Høeg who have worked together before and who are all passionate about the meditation practice have on their album Brud og hengivelse – improvisationer (Breaks and Surrendering – improvisations) taken their collaboration and acquaintance to a new place, namely an improvised encounter between meditation and music.

On four tracks on the digital release, they explore the experience of the personality and body viewed as a house, the relationship between silence and sound, between devotion and wakefulness, between play and seriousness, and between love and separation.

They playfully explore the deepening that can occur when it is soon the music, soon the words, soon a listening silence leading inward.

In the warmth and mutual responsiveness and respect between the three, a fourth, invisible player becomes tangible: the opportunity that exists in meditative, creative contact.
