Songs for Children: “Cherry Blossom Snow” by Tina Sakura Bestle and Torben Westergaard

In 2019, I had the great privilege of collaborating with the renowned Danish children’s book author Tina Sakura Bestle. This collaboration resulted in 10 songs for children called “Cherry Blossom Snow” by Tina Sakura Bestle and Torben Westergaard, and many wonderful friends, musicians, and creative individuals, culminating in the album Kirsebærsne.

A shout-out to the collaborators: The folk trio Trio Mio, Sophie Ziedoy, our dearly missed friend Jacob Andersen, Millfactory Nuvenue, Bønnelycke MDD, and Sumo Illustrations.

The music was also released as sheet music, which you can find here, along with the Kirsebærsne song as well.

The music also found its way to Japan, which knows the Beaty of cherry blossoms in their Hanami season—translation by Tomoko Kitamura Nielsen.
